Then they will give you some pointers what to dance with some essential figures perfect for Vals rhythm. S+A

Suitable for Improvers+ Beyond (at least 4-6 months regular tango dancing)

Workshop 2a + 2b (11.45-13.15) Leader’s and Follows’s styling/technique. Technique classes for leads and follows taught separately by Stefano and Alexandra. S+A

2a Perfecting your Tango Walk. Stefano is well known for having one of the most graceful and elegant salon walk. The style is as danced by the great maestros and his mentors (Dispari, Zotto). Stefano will break down the elements and explore the dynamics of ‘The Walk’ and by the end have you walking gorgeous and flowing steps.

2b Central Core, Posture and Embelishments. Alexandra uses her extensive tango, ballet + contemporary dance expertise to focus on strengthening the followers Central Core. This enables the fluid and loose free leg essential for dancing tango. It allows you to play, be more responsive to the lead + opens up a wealth of embellishment possibilities. Some of which will be practiced in the workshop.

Suitable for Improvers + Beyond (at least 4-6 months regular tango dancing)

Workshop 3 (14.15 – 15.45) – Steps and technique to dance in busy milongas This workshop will cover how to keep moving/dancing when there is little space or when those around you have stopped. It will show you how to make everything you do more compact and precise. Useful patterns such as ocho cortados, medio giros, cross variations, rebounds etc will be included.  Workshops 4 (14.15 – 15.45) – Single Axis turns Impressive but very tricky to execute well. These lovely turns involve sharing the axis, pivoting and spinning together. Stefano and Alexandra will break down the patterns as well as to help understand the correct embrace in order to achieve the spin around one shared axis. If you always look enviously at great dancers who manage to turn tightly, effortlessly and beautifully connected despite traffic – then this workshop is for you. S+A

Workshop 5 (16.00 – 17.30) – Sophisticated Ganchos for social dancing Ganchos (leg hooks) should add the “wow” factor to your dance but often if poorly executed add more of the ‘oww factor!’ This workshop focuses on the technique which lies at the foundation of giving and receiving good, effective ganchos. We will explore a number of ganchos for both the follow and also the leader. By the end of the workshop you will be more confident and stylish with these stylish yet challenging moves. S+A
